sry for this lame title, i cant thinkAHAHAHAHA IM SO HAPPPY *O* love the way the pic came out ! though i need more practice in making clouds ...n other things o-o
I didnt want to post this now... but oh well... pfft i really wanted to hear everyone opinion regarding this pic <3
p.s i will again go in my inactive mode bcz STUDIES! I DON'T WANNA FAILLLLL //throws tableΒ
i'm left with one sketcy commission which will be completed soon n then i ll vanish ;w;

The cloud! It's so vast, feel so large and so refreshing. Doesn't it make you wish you could fly? Not even an overstatement here. I could imagine feeling a cool breeze, and the smell of sea salt. I could go on and ramble about the background for paragraphs but I don't want the dude sitting on foreground to feel bad. His color, his clothing goes well with the background. Pink and cool sea blue. you sure know how to make things dramatic
Cloud! You said youΒ need more practice in making clouds. I'd say you're already goes the right way! In my opinion it doesn't have to be more realistic, or more cotton like, or fluffy. The hard edge cloud fits your style best. Make me wanna skydive without a chute, backflip twice and grab on balloon on my way down while bullet diving through one of the cloud.
So the negative is: you guessed it, The guy feel insignificant compared to the whole picture in my opinion. I bet you drew and paint this man first sitting in a room, maybe on a couch. Then scrapped the idea and painted the sea and cloud in the backgroud instead. (which I totally agree with this decision. Because CLOUD!)
In the end, you did a great job. I'm not talking about the scale and drawing/painting technique here (which is also, a great job) art isn't about that for me. It's a picture that made me feel something (It's something I wish I could do) and that's what count.

But ahh, i didnt drew him first sitting on a couch or other x3 my idea was just to make him sit comfortably in a clear wide sky 
But then other idea came n so i wanted to make both the boy n the sky in different frames..(thats y put a boundary eheh x'D). I think i should clear the part of sky outside of the boundary x3

Dear, first of all, let me tell you how much I love this composition! <3 You said you need more practice with clouds, but I think they're beautiful! I'd even like a cloud tutorial from you, srsly. The drawing as an all is very appealing to the eyes and it stand out from others because of the BG, mainly. However, there are a few points that deserve attention.
The knee is a bit too pointy, so maybe next time you should make it a little rounder? You can bend your knee and see the joint is actually rounder, so you can use yourselg as model, it's totally ok. Another thing that bothered me a bit was the head shape. It's a small detail, but the pic would be nicer if you made his head a little more even. The way it is looks reminds me of a mushroom, where the top part is bigger, the oval shape would look better here.

I'm sorry, it was the first thing I could think of, orz. I think the problem is not the hair, but the head as an all. Do you usually make the head structure before adding hair to it? If not, then if should help lots. =3

I think this is a beautiful drawing! I love the sky~ The sea looks so calming, and the bright colors in here gives cheerful feeling in this artwork! You have a good sense of wind. Is there are supposed to be writings on the paper? if so, you can use real writings (from books, picture. etc) And use overlay/ multiply layer, then skewed, rotated it so he writings fit with the papers. This way, it will looks natural ^^
I think your shading is nice! If you want to make the character blend in more with background, you can use overall lighting in the very top of layers. Fill the layer with your desired color (for this one maybe blue is a nice choice) then, low the opacity until you satisfy fith the results!
Overall, i think you did a great job on this one! His pose, concept and lighting are great! Keep it up your good work ^^
