Description

Featuring 0003 Azazel

The sky was perfect. Not clear, but clear was overate. There was nothing like feeling the gentle mist of fluffy summer clouds against ones skin as you soared over the landscape. Below, miles past fast than any car could take you. To your right, a formation of geese were arriving home for the winter, honking as the strange equines joined them in their avian domain. It was pure, untouched perfection.

"I can see the coast!"

The group emerged from the final cloud to see the golden beaches and stony cliffs of the shore they had traveled so far to see. Up ahead, Daniel rode Azazel - a raven of black and blue in the vibrant landscape. Already the Beryllium stallion was snorting, eyes wide as they made their decent.

The total opposite follow. Gringotts, the pure white Aeropeios, ridden by the quiet newcomer to the stables Blair, flew down towards the beach. Daniel, as always, went in hard ; Azazel had to gallop as the momentum forced him forward, sand kicking up everywhere.

"WOOO! This is just like home!" Daniel cried, laughing. His bare, tattooed chest glowed with a healthy Norevian tan. "Well, other home, anyway!"

"You need to be more controlled with your landings." Sirius reprimanded, the older man landing atop the rose stallion Kalecgos. While Gringotts nearly glowed in the sunshine, Kalecgos shone like brilliant bronze. Daniel dismissed him, waving a hand and jumping down. His legs like jelly after the long flight, he had to lean on Azazel for support. Azazel on the other hand, was more focused on the moving water and salty air. Nostrils wide as he snorted, ears forward and neck arched, it was clear the dark stud had never encountered the sea before.

Blair had already untacked her steed, placing the tack in the sand and stroking her favorite Aeropeios. The girl was quiet, yet her eyes always revealed an intelligence Sirius rarely found in such youth.

"Let's give them free rein. They've worked hard today." Sirius nodded, echoing Blair's notion and turning his horse loose. The three stallions now made their way to the water.

While Gringotts walked in like he was born among the waves, Kalecgos tossed his head and charged like bull. Water sprayed and Daniel laugh, Sirius giving a rare chuckle, as they watched on. Azazel on the other hand remained ashore, eyeing the water like it was a beast, reaching for him over and over.

"You'd think our founding stallion would be brave." Daniel smirked, walking over to pat the stallion - not a bright move, as the riled up Aero darted to the side with a squeal. "Wow, seriously?"

Daniel enjoyed the surf, while Sirius went for a walk alone up the beach, and Blair remained seated in the sand watching the waves. All three stallions enjoyed the water - even Azazel, eventually- washing the sweat from their coats and ruffling their feathers like birds did. It was quite an odd sight, cute in a way, as they splashed their wings in the shallows before fluffing their feathers up and flapping them about. Eventually Gringotts had retired to lay in the hot sand, Blair sitting beside him loyally, while the Tigre's played like colts in the waves.

Upon Sirius' return, the horses were saddled and the trio of riders made their way home. The horses were tired, mainly gliding on the hot air currents much like birds of prey do, as they headed home.

"Did you enjoy it?"

Blair looked up as she brushed down Gringott's glowing pelt, now even more pristine from the sand and sea, shining like the moon on the darkest of nights. Daniel had joined her, using the softest brush to gently tend to the stallions feathers.

"Yes."

"Next time you'll have to swim. It's so refreshing." Daniel smiled encouragingly, but the girl kept her silver eyes on the task and her lips sealed. Frowning softly, Danny remembered a time not so long ago when he had tried to trick the girl into sex. She had made him pay, severely, and he'd walked away scared of the quiet demi-demoness. Now, though, everything was different. Blair had broken, and somehow she's ended up here. The confident male had many secrets, and now when he looked at Blair he saw his own suffering in her. They had spent years working on the same team, and now she needed a partner more than ever.

"Blair.. I know things between us weren't exactly.. err.. great before." Danny frowned, now hidden behind Gringott as he tended to the other wing. "But I just.. well.. Just want you to know I won't try anything stupid again."

Blair listened, silent as usual, but thinking a dozens things. She placed a hand to her temple, frowning, the thoughts like a chaotic whirlwind in her mind; she didn't want to remember their history.

"I want to help you out, if I can. Make up for what I did, maybe..." Ducking under Gringotts neck, he looked up at her for any kind of reaction. She glanced at him, head almost upside down as he waited for a response. "Blair..?"

"Ok."

It was simple and curt, but enough to make him grin. She glanced towards him and couldn't help but smile the smallest of smiles. Daniel didn't remember ever seeing the girl smile in the six years they had worked together.

"Awesome." Smiling to himself, he felt a small kick in his spirit. He'd never done anything worth while with his life - maybe this was his chance to do better.

The rest of the day played out like usual; horses were trained, fed, and tended to. By nightfall everyone was tired, and for Blair and Daniel who lived in the guest accommodation, the warmth of food was welcomed. Neither could cook, sadly, but the local pizza delivery was brilliant.

"Man, TV is the best. How did we live without it!" Danny grinned, shoving a slice into his gob as the trashy american show played in the lounge. Blair, seated at the other end of the couch, looked at him sceptically.

"Small minds are easily entertained."

"Hey, of all people who could use an education in 'how to be normal', it's you." He teased, offering her a slice from the box. She took it silently, turning her gaze back to the television. While it was an insult, it was true; she was far from normal.

The night was short - sleep was a requirement with such a labor heavy job.

"Night B."

"Good night."

Both went to bed feeling a little better about the future.

About time I entered the Aerolympics! I added some extras to the BG, I hope that's alright Tried a new highlighting technique with my cell shading and I really like it Overall I'm pretty pleasure, it's been a long time since I did a shaded piece. Plus, it was awesome having such a nice BG to work with <3

So this is Azazel's first time at the beach! TOD is located inland near a mountain range, and Azazel was captured wild from even further inland. He's not sure about the moving water trying to come grab him
