Sorry, Kishi, Rin is a stupid reason.
I will keep reading Naruto, but I wouldn't care for it.
All the fun has been taken out of it.
I think I will go read Kekkaishi to cheer me up, at least *that* made sense.

If it's any consolation, Obito says after this that Rin's death isn't the ONLY reason he's doing all this. I think that's just the personal one; the logical reason has yet to be revealed.
The world's a big thing to grasp. It's hard to care about something that big without something personal to light the spark.

There IS no logical reason! Minor spoiler warning, but let's just say that I highly doubt that it's a coincidence that the first of the Five Great Villages that Obito targeted just happened to be Kirigakure. He's just prettying everything up with his nihilism so he doesn't have to face the plain and simple fact that he's incapable of handling the truth.
On a side note, I would love, above all else, for Rin to be brought back, even for just a moment or two; just enough for her to tell him how utterly disappointed and let-down she is over all of his bullshit. Obito's one dog that NEEDS to be kicked.

Calm down kids. If you think about it, it does have a similar plot line as the Deathly Hollows. Snape continued to love Lily way after her death and continued to love her even when he died and they were childhood friends. So why can't it be the same thing for Obito and Rin. So, why shouldn't characters not to something completely outrageous for the people they love. This shows powerful emotion, not teenage angst.

NaruSaku is NaruSaku, MinaKushi is MinaKushi.
They have a lot of parallels, and the new movie has give me more hopes for NaruSaku.
Even if this manga doesn't end in NaruSaku, I'm glad they have more relationship than other crack ships.
That sentence of Kushina... made me laugh when every NaruHina shipper tried to convert it in a valid statement for their pairing. Good times.
