they kinda took it a little too far here. it was a sweet scene, but.... they're acting like Tank was about to die. it was sweet at first, but then it became kinda forced

I think this episode would have worked better if we were shown how Rainbow Dash and Tank's bond had developed after she got him in "May the best pet Win". We never saw anythingΒ major happen with them in episodes that came before this one and we only got a few minor scenes with them. Also, that expression on Tank'sΒ face in this vectorΒ looks likeΒ he's saying "Why are they being so overdramatic? I'm not going away forever."

Twilight has the right idea here(even though she dosent say it): Rainbow is being a totall idiot about i the whole thing. Its only 3 months. Tank,Spike and especiay Twilight will outlive them all. She's accepted her own mortality, or lack of. Tank has too.

Im taking what was said as meaning something else( but its just me). The show will never last long enough for that theory to be tested. I do think alicorns are not immortal(where's the rest of the species if they are), just have VERY slow ageing. But again thats just me.

Well, Celestia and Luna are just the only 2 divine alicorns that were ever created.
mortal alicorns like Twilight and Cadance will just die of old age. Twilight's lifespan is the same as it used to be.

Well, IMO, that kinda breaks the immersion despite actual Pegasi, Unicorns, and Alicorns from folklore, are semi-immortal/immortal races. As far as I'm concerned, in Cloudsdale and the rest of Equestria, there are no elderly Pegasi or Unicorns to be found.
While I do understand that point of view that various types of Immortality can be a curse, there's indeed a way to prevent that. Immortals have to also be gifted the ability to teleport to the afterlife domains/Heaven, or even bestowal Meta Teleportation.
If you don't know what Meta Teleportation is, then you are free to look at this article anytime you want. (powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Meβ¦) Even though, heroes/heroines (especially the Mane VI) really do deserve being gifted immortality as long as they also be gifted the power to teleport to Heaven or Meta Teleportation, which has been mentioned before.
