Go back and watch episode 15 of the first anime. During the Ishbal flashback where it shows a line of State Alchemists marching dramatically ....if you look REALLY close. You'll see a cameo of Ling walking with them, decked out in the uniform and DUN DUN a pair of glasses identical to Greed's.
Also I find it kind of sad that I barely need a reference for the uniform OR Al's armor anymore 8|
