Ken's older twin sister, daughter of Kyo Kusanagi and Yuki, granddaughter of Saisyu and Shizuka Kusanagi,niece of Souji,Aoi,Ryosuke and Kasumi Kusanagi.She is the fourth female of the Kusanagi clan wields a fire. Like Ken, she was originally named as "Ibuki Kusanagi" by their grandfather, Saisyu but Kyo and Yuki already got a name "Kyu Kusanagi" before Saisyu got a chance to name her, much to his chagrin.

Clothe-wise,she wore a school uniform,a white and blue sailor fuku.During free-time,she wore a pink and white shirt with hoodie and has a long stockings that length to her knees.Despite a being tomboy,she wore skirts to preserve her femininity.

Personality:
When she was a baby, she is energetic and happy compare to her twin brother but she can be very picky when someone else held her which she'll cry, such as Aoi Kusanagi, Saisyu Kusanagi, Sie Kensou and Mai Shiranui, much to the anger of Kyo Kusanagi and Iori Yagami since he too had a daughter. She shown interested with Iori after Kyo hands her over to him to hold her, much to Iori's embarassement.
Present Kyu is very cheerful,upbeat and easy-going person.She also quite energetic girl with passionate for people.She also shown to be bossy when it comes to her brother,Ken in trouble.Kyu is a very totally loving and overly protective to Ken and she also believes that her father,Kyo Kusanagi is still alive. But,when it comes to fashion,Kyu is somewhat a tomboy.At first she doesn't like skirts and make-up because for her,they are "in a pain".Her mother,Yuki doesn't mind that because she overcame her fear of skirts and shows her feminine sides. She is the only few of the Kusanagi clan that understand Iori's pain and she's very close to him,much to grandparent's dismay,secondly was Kyo and third was Athena Asamiya. Thus,she does show her compassionate to people,especially Yuko.
Her future counterpart however, is more feminine and lady-like contrast of Future Ayane being a tomboy. Present Kyu is also like her future counterpart and also she is very sweet and caring.
In her alternate future, Future Kyu has no twin brother but her older brother named Yuji whom she cared and worry of. Due to the harsh enviroment she lived in, she is insecured and introverted. She's a good friends with Ayane as she and Yuji are very close to her. Like Ayane, Kyu is is a hard-working girl who lacks a certain amount of faith in herself and desires to change herself, being the next Atsuko Maeda the 6th and the center of the group AKB48, as a way to reinvent herself. Despite her lack of faith, she cares deeply for her friends and will not hesitate to help them. She is pure heartened and known to be the most current KOF fighters and AKB that loves her fans which was proved by her succession of Acchan.

Story background:
After the defeat of Orochi,Kyo had returned to his family and friends and happily reunited with his girlfriend,Yuki.Since that day they spent together,Kyo told Yuki about more fitting idea...the marriage and having kids.After the marriage,Kyo and Yuki having their honey moon, Yuji, came to their lives and they live in peace and Kyo became business partner for his neighbour friend, Terry, much to Saisyu's dismay as he wanted to train his grandson. Iori and his wife, Mizuho is also settling in and eventually got a son named Hayate and the two became friends and sparring partners, sensing their potential to became the next in line, Kyo decide to train Yuji, with Yuki urges her husband to train, though Kyo originally wanted his son to be a scholar. They are having a big reunion party with other fighters and their children together.
Chizuru congrats the pair having a son and Kyo became a father.

When Yuki was heavily pregnant with the twins, Kyo decide to stay until his twin babies are born, which it almost delaying his invitation to the tournament, Gill send Kolin to find Yuki and Mizuho to him speed things up and magically warped him and his twin sister, along with Kou and Ayane. As he welcome the twins, Kyo held his son to the last and bring him to his grandfather, Saisyu. When asked about given them a named, Saisyu decide to give his grandchildren a proper name that is worthy of the Kusanagi clan by the name "Kazuki Kusanagi" and "Ibuki Kusanagi", but Kyo and Yuki already got a name for them that is Ken Kusanagi and Kyu Kusanagi, much to Saisyu's chagrin but decide accepting the name due to Ken and Kyu liking that name their parents chose.

Two years have passed,Ken,in 14 year old,lead his normal life with his older twin sister,Kyu as a high school student and their brothr in college.Then,a sudden darkness engulf the world.Ken was defenseless being attacked by the black-hooded Orochi servants mob begging his father to save him but Aoi saved him and tells him that his father can't protect him anymore,but Kyu rebukes that Kyo will always come home.Suddenly.out of no where,a young man resembles Iori Yagami but black hair appear and help the twins.
Akane,daughter of Chizuru,tells Ken that his father's disappeared in involving Orochi's reawaken.The boy named Hayate Yagami also looking for his father who went missing several years.Joined with them,Ken set off the journey to find his missing father and seal the Orochi
