I got laser eye surgery. Not sure if you'd want it, since it's expensive, but it comes in several forms, including one that's meant to fix the need for near-vision glasses.
I'm so glad I don't have to wear glasses (for seeing things farther away) anymore.

As someone who literally has eyesight so sensitive to bright light I can't walk outside without sunglasses on without running the risk of hurting them, I so empathize with this.

The worse is all the gunk that builds up behind the padding of your glasses and you're just like...gross. : P

Whenever I go to a opt they always are amazed and maybe grossed out. I am like "eh" but when I clean them its like the sound of music hillside for a small time after. I've used the same frame since 2008, they were pricey as hell, but very technically worth that. I get the weirdest looks for having very nice high end frames, and having the dirtiest lens they have seen in weeks. Admittedly this last check up, I was seeing a new place so I cleaned EVERYTHING on them since they were going to the lab.
Was even more hilarious when I slide on my old backup glasses from when I went to the dust covered Burning Man festival more, and they are coated in the dust that just doesn't come off. "They get worse? You have dirtier?" XD

Day 1: "Aw shit, don't let them get scratched! gotta keep the case and cleaner on hand everywhere I go."

Here's somthing I have found over the years; Don't use the lens cleaner the opticians sell you. It's basically just water. Go out and buy some LCD screen cleaner, the type that is anti-static and is a little thicker than water (shake the bottle. You'll be able to tell) as that slows down the gunk building up. It's also cheaper in the long run.
