Description Plume of the peacock, wings of the cicada, faery dust and metals of the earth... sounds like ingredients for a potion! Luckily it is just the materials I used to make these pretty little fluttering faerings... too much?

LOL...

These little wings are much sturdier than a butterfly or even a dragon fly. They are pretty heavy duty compared to most insect wings. You can seal them with a variety of sealers. I used a heat safe glaze on these. I coated them several times to begin with and then dipped them and brushed off most of the excess as a final coat. I also added a wire in-between a couple of coats so the wire had more to hang onto than the wing and glue. I basically added enough glaze to thicken them and make them hard. This does not always work on every set. I think I might try some resin soon.

Cool! I guess I didn't even realize that you could use real wings to make stuff like this.

I love these! We had a swarm of cicadas this past summer and I picked up two little guys that had expired...not sure what I was going to do with them but my goofy cat thought they were for him...sigh*
