Hey guys, this is my first piece using Wacom and also my first digital painting, i hope you guys would give me some comment so that i can improve my skills.
CYCLOPS
Pioneer assault team for the Human Council.
Weapon: Deltec X-21 High Intensity X-ray Beam Pistol that pierces through enemy armor to cause damage from inside out.
Armor: Semi-mechanized armor powered by compact uranium nuclear energy cells. Light emmited from within the armor can be turned off and on based on the combat situation. The robotic eye provides the user with a variety of vision modes, it is also linked to the laser sensor of the pistol to help the user target enemies at higher accuracy and range.

For your first try this is pretty damn good. You have a good sense of light which is always a tricky thing to grasp. Nice one

thank you for your support.. actually i just started learning digital painting through tutorials posted on youtube and deviantart.. it's only been 6 days i think.. but i will speed up my progress in delivering better art pieces..

It's good, you seem to have a pretty good grasp of proportions etc. I would like to see a full sketch of this guy like just a normal pencil sketch. How long did it take you?

i dont really have a sketch of him coz i started him with patches of grey here and there.. but i'll work something out for ya.. thanks alot of showing your support..

The basic idea is there, you just need to brush things up. Learn with variety of style, and adopt the one you are comfortable the most.
But overall, i love the thought you put into the details. Keep it up!

not wasted time at all, all artwork is useful . This is really good, thinking about light and shadow so early on is a great start. Have fun learning the fundamentals , not every piece is going to be a finnished illustration, it doesnt need to be. Just have fun doing it.
