Hi there! I'm here on behalf of #Traditional-Artists to make sure you get all the feedback this piece recieved at our last Critique Night!

“That's a really lovely drawing of Michelangelo's Pieta. I like the proportions and the fact that you've caught the expression well. What I do not like is that you have outlined your drawing. Contrary to what people may think, this does not make the drawings look well. It makes them look like they were drawn by a beginner instead, and suggest that you do not know how to avoid such things. The solution is to shade outside the figure, to add some dark background around, so that it could make the skin look really pale. You could have also added some other parts of the sculpture, just to make the composition better; not necessarily covering the whole sheet with details, just suggesting that there is something except the bust and flowers. When I first saw the roses you've added I wasn't sure what to think about them, but I've got fond of them after a while. Their petals and leaves are lovely! Overall, this is a very nice drawing, it has a positive feeling to it and you certainly shade well, you just need to work on those little flaws to improve (:”
“How lovely! This is a beautiful piece, quite well executed. The main thing that bugs me though is that there are parts that are done very realistically while others are quite line-heavy. If you ask me, you should concentrate on one style, either go for photorealism and get rid of the hard lines or give it a more art noveau feeling with thick outlines and less shadows. Both styles would fit here, but mixing them is confusing for the eye. Apart from that, your technique and your motive are very good. The roses are superb, and the folds of her scarf/hood look wonderful. Looking at it for some time, I suspect that the face is a little too far down and not exactly the right angle - but the delicacy of the shadowing give it a fantastic peaceful expression. Good job!”
“Good combination of line art and drawing with a soft approach. A good composition the roses add air of beauty, though this changes the emotion somewhat from pity. Sound approach to the face but try to keep the proportions correct. The line across the forehead is meant to wrap around the head but appears to cut across at too steep an angle The eye to the left seems to be somewhat disjointed form the face, being a little too small and low but more so affected by the eyebrow. The eyebrow is too high and does not conform to the curvature of the face properly. This just takes practise with rudimentary measurements. If this is a problem grids can help until you get the hang of it more. The head and hood are done very well but smoother shading would have fitted more with the monochrome line art style. If you are aiming for a more realistic effect try to remove the hard outlines and try to use tones to represent shape and form. If not keep up the good work.”

What a lovely idea and composition!! I especially love how you have the roses flowing almost as though they were her hair!!
As I look at the technical execution of this piece, I find a few points that could be worked on.
Right away, the perspective is a bit off. It can be challenging to say the least attempting a looking down portrait perspective because of how the facial features line up so differently than a straight forward portrait. The first thing you might want to notice is that the top of her head is much too big (high) to properly fit the proportions of any perspective. If a reference photo was used, take another look at it and i'm sure you'll see what I'm talking about. If not, using some form of drawing reference (model, photo perspective, mirror, even a toy figurine) will help you fix that top of head perspective.
Also, her eyes aren't properly lined up. That can be a tricky thing in itself in any perspective drawing (or straight on drawing ) of a portrait. Facial mis-alignments end up being quite noticeable in the end product. While sketching it out...stand it up on an easel or something that will hold it up straight and take a step back. Distance helps me find mistakes. Also turning the pic upside down and stepping away to look at it helps me see faults as well.
If you're going for a realistic drawing, you'll want to pay attention to those hard, well defined lines. In a realistic drawing these lines should be defined by your shading (in most cases, there are always exceptions to the rule

Good work tough i think needs more shading, maybe it's just cause of the scanner , but it seems to me the pic is too light, like if the mid-tones were lacking.
As it is it seems like there's a hyper strong light that creates just a light shadow where we should see more stronger shadows and the lights and midtones are all-in-one, giving a little idea of the volumes of the 3d figure .
Overall i think it needs a bit more of work on this aspect , however nice work
