Been a Long time since I've been here.Been a Long time since I drew something for personal reasons!
This pic corrects those faults!
Hattori Hanzo, from Samurai Shodown (yes, no W in SHOWdown! that's how THEY spell it)!!
I loved this guy in my teens... I still think he's awesome now! Whenever I played any SamSho, I'd always leave the arcade with him screaming this moves name... It's listed as "Bakuenryu", it just sounded like "Ah-KRIM!" to me... It was just... so cool...
...So, this, I took one of my fav things of SamSho, and put it into picture form! I tried to mimic SNK's Sprite style of Flame (circa SamShoII) in this drawn pic, and THAT... was VERY interesting to attempt!
His armor is a Mix of what he's had from Samsho 1 all the way to in KoF Maximum Impact II... So an original mix, a greatest hits, if you will!
All done with lead pencils, no inks here... I'm rather happy with it! ^_^

Yesssss, I agree, it does sound like 'Ah-KRIM,' ahhhh such an epic character. I love your drawing by the way, I had planned on doing something similar, with him doing that move, I'll have to use this as inspiration! Wonderful job.

HEY! I remember him! I used to play as him back in the day in the laundromat. haha, I would get my samurai killing fix while my clothes where in the washer. good times. ^^
really cool drawing, it's been a while since I've seen a pencil shaded drawing, these days it's all about CGI coloring or drawing. ^^ haha, even I fell prey to the solid black lines of CG drawing...
Props on keeping it traditional!

The solid black lines of CG are like a DRUG... absolute black! None of that messy, halftone, uneven pencil stuff! But this is probably the primary way my pics will ever have "texture"... I dislike most CG texture styles for "anime/manga" style art...
I guess this ended up being just as time-draining as a Photoshop piece in the end, but for some reason, I like spending the time on pencil shades, rather than constantly changing sliders for color balance in Photoshop...

haha, yeah, you get more of a satisfied feeling after doing something
traditional like this... not to say that photoshop is easy to use or
anything, I guess Im trying to say that since pencil has some wicked
limitations it is way more satisfiying to see something cool in pencil
than it is when it;s done in photoshop. (especially since photoshop has
an endless amount of things that you can do with it. and often feels like
you could have done more than you did.) >,< I HATE THAT FEELING>>
yeah, I've been penciling a lot these past few months. but I always end up
taking pictures of it and then tracing it on the computer... I am too weak
against the dark power of photoshop... damn you Adobe! DAmn you!!!
