Description This was the Historical Flyby on the Saturday at the Reno Air Races 2008. Impressive enough to see a flying P-38J (10 years ago it was buried under a glacier in Iceland) but doubly impressive to see the Raptor hang with this formation.

It was part of a transfer flight during WWII. They hit a storm and ended up ditching on a glacier in Greenland. They managed to get the crew off but the P-38s got left behind. Fifty years later (thanks to global warming) they were able to get to this one. It was about three miles form where it landed, thanks to the movement of the Glacier.
