Another Bronx Zoo selfie with the Sisters, Emma and Kitty. Kitty sure looks really excited to part of it! Emma is more than happy with an animal so beautiful, majestic, and rare. Yep, I mean rare, for that these animals are the Pere David's deer. There is something special about these animals that may had a sad past, but are faced with a hopeful and happy future, with the help of the Bronx Zoo. The Pere David's deer were once extinct in the wild and existed only in zoological parks. But with the help of WCS (Wildlife Conservation Society) management and planning, this species has been reintroduced into the wild. Hopefully, herds of Pere David's deer will repopulate and soon regain their numbers in the wild. That would be something for Kitty and Emma to be excited about.
