Description Featuring my new sona, haven't decided on a name yet, but yus it's an otter, getting bored of the canine thing and wanted to be more original (and they eat like all my favorite foods ok).
This took FOREVER. Kind of. Most of the time was spent trying to figure out how to draw the ocean, it was a pain ._.
Attempted to use tutorials for it but gave up halfway and kinda winged it. Clouds are hard too u_u esp without a smudge tool? Still it was a fun and good learning experience I guess. Also one of the biggest canvases I've ever used. Compare to this fav.me/d4mga13

A couple things, tho!


Firrrsssttt off, the color values are kinda the same. A good test for that would be to grayscale it and see how intereting your picture is in grayscale, whiiich looks like this:Β i44.tinypic.com/1627mdd.png A lot of the grays are ... well, the same gray.Β 


Then look at a grayscaled version of the tutorial ocean:Β i44.tinypic.com/auuzcm.png

Different shades of gray! 50 Β 


Also, if you want kinda smudgey looking clouds, I heard that using the eraser set to 80% density works pretty well, or you can use different brush settings- like, I kinda like Spread & Noise. So, uhh, yeah.Β 


So, uhh, I guess the best advice i can give is that you should use more color values! Lighter/darker, saturated, more saturated, derp. -doesn't know- Uhm. SO, YEAAAHhhHh. I LOVE THOSE EYES <3
