Isn't it funny how inspiration hits just a few days prior to a huge research paper being due?lol Here's a long-overdue revamp of my original character, Mia Stone. I tend to draw her almost dying a lot.

Fun Fact: Thanks to Google, I just recently found out that the real life 'Mia Stone' is actually a porn star. I based her off of myself, so I guess you could imagine my enthusiasm. :C
I thought up her name when I was like 12 and was convinced that it was so unique. lol
Anyway. it's almost 2am. I better go bed.

Oh good lord, I had forgotten that like, 2 or 3 years ago you asked me to draw this lady, and I never did.
So I'm going to take this time to tell ya that I'm sorry. XD;
Anyway, though.
This is really awesome. : D I love her face. She's very pretty.
Always does my heart good to see a nice and not overly sexual warrior lady. To much sexual content these days.

I have to admit: I have at least one or two outstanding 'art promises' I've completely forgotten about and/or blown off over the years for other stuff.
The way I see it; the longer it takes to finally draw it, the better and more experienced you'll potentially be when you get around to it! You're only doing the person a favor by holding out on them! xD

I thought it was established that inspiration directly correlates with how much important and/or mandatory crap you have to do
Aaaanyway.
I really cannot stop staring at that skin. It seems more... realistic. The freckles and such really capture the fact that skin really isn't as flawless as it's made out to be. It's those minor imperfections and blemishes upon the skin that just add that touch of realism to this, and really makes it stand out amongst your pictures of Mia. So I'd say that's a sign of improvement and/or extra effort. Either way, it's a good thing

Now that I'm out of school, I draw less, but full-time work is slowly increasing my "inspiration". Funny how that works---
Mia's skin was actually super fun to paint. Normally I just use one boring solid colour with some highlights/shading. Blah.

Clearly, work and deadlines are elaborate means of trolling people by feeding inspiration that one can't act upon. Touche, work/school. Touche.
Hah, well, to be fair, that is pretty much the industry standard. I'd say 90% of dA does the same (myself included), so breaking out of the ordinary definitely does stand out.

=arvalis sent me a huge pack of them the other day, and those were more or less what I used to colour this picture. There was a 'freckle' brush, 'scales', pastel / oil paint effect brushes... etc!

That outfit is rather spectacular in the little details: the coloured laces on the corset, the steel-toed boots. So much to love here. And her expression is priceless.

As for the name, maybe alter it a bit if you're worried about association. "Mia Stonesthrow" sounds a lot more fantasy-ish, firinstance.

oh yes,..LOTS of work coming in. Got 3 BIG comic projects I'm working on simultaneously (omgthatssuchalongword...i was all over the keyboard in superslow-mo as my brain was assembling it)...A webcomic "The Alternates" (get caught up at www.the-alts.com), "Billow", a personal project that's been knocking around the insides of my face, and "Reynard City", a story featuring 3 foxy (literally) heroes who fight crime and all-around bad behavior! whew...and then commissions to top it off xD *passes out*

I actually saw the latest comic you submitted, it's great! I've always been so impressed and inspired by your innate ability to capture high-motion poses and foreshorten so effortlessly -- I think I say that every time I compliment your art, but I MEAN IT EVERY TIME! 
But yeah, I wish I could just hunker down and dedicate my time to some real intensive art projects -- even if they're just personal ones. I never seem to have time lately. With school, work, and the pitiful one-day-a-week social like I like to believe I have--- art is always on the back-burner!!! <:C

I think the way you say Mia Stone from the porn star one, it makes a difference. Besides she has nothing on your Mia against fighting monsters daily ^-^ the other one would be a dead skeleton with a thong on >.<

I have ALWAYS loved... that great machete-like sword she carries around. I love machetes! I have like 3 and keep one in my car. Planning to get more.

regardless, she's well designed and is fairly unique, and besides, characters go through a LOT of name changes before a final version is stamped down, sometimes with years going by while they sit on a shelf before being revisited. THERE'S STILL TIME. I mean you can even keep the first letters and number of syllables. Hell, back when I still had the creative mojo to come up with oc's, I'd have guys with around twenty name changes before I settled on one!
