Growing up I never really mastered the ability to draw backgrounds with any sort of proficiency –it wasn’t until fairly recently in my career that I managed to draw trees and buildings that I was happy with. I like drawing the occasional sort of “edenic” tropical jungle sort of scenes, and this was an opportunity to do so.There are some new techniques I attempted in this picture when it came to drawing her eyes –or rather her eye – and I really like how it turned out. The two best features of this one are, in my opinion, her visible eye and the flower in her hair. I totally lucked out when shading them and they turned out far better than they normally would have.

Beautiful, beautiful girl. From her hair, to her chest, to her legs (if you ever wish to make me do something by use of a pretty girl, make absolute sure that she shows lots of nicely shaped legs..... *Homer Simpson drooling shudder noise*).
My only critique is that she seems to be floating slightly, like she'd not on the branch. The main problem for that is the shading under her butt. My guess is that it should be darkest where her behind touches the tree. Also, her backside should squish out ever so slightly because of the pressure of her sitting down.

Just amazing work on the coloring/shading. Things like the necklace, the rose, the leaves, the grass, the fruit, her hair and I could go on. Its just astounding.
