My reference was a yes.( [link] ) These the paints I prepared horses as exam work... and from myself I cannot draw perfect horses very much yet.

I think you're pretty good already. I can never draw a horse without either tracing a picture or using a book with steps to guide me

lol, again the question: how did you manage the effect on it's hindquarters, legs and neck?

I did with dry brush, not too wet paint, and I just pressed the brush on the mentioned areas.
