....Oooooh, white ink.... I see, I can tell with the eyes, but is the mist white ink as well? Cool....
It reminds me of Princess Mononoke a bit (if you have ever seen it) ...there are huge magical creatures that protect the forest.... they are linked with nature and at times at odds with the humans not because they are inherently bad or evil.... but, in a way, because humans are encroaching on their world. I get that kind of feeling from this... I said sinister earlier, but I would like to change that..... it looks like a dog watching to make sure you donβt cross the line and enter the yard it is protecting....
definitely an unwelcoming look, but not sinister exactly....and the ill intent doesnβt seem to be aimed at the forest itself
any way.... really cool!

I used the white ink to create the bottom mist/clouds cause i added too much water and black ink in the first place and i couldn't recreate the top look .. so i took a leap of faith and it worked 
I also tried to make him look as if we're spying on him rather than he's spying on us... Really close to your idea

I love all the details and the creepyness! I like the fact that creepyness consists not in the scary face of the creature, but in the glowing eyes, posture, shape of the body.
Very good silhouette and IΒ΄m very impressed by the mist through the dark forest.

I like how you turned a silhouette into something you see in a nightmare. This looks like
something you see in a legendary story or something you remember from a nightmare. I also
like how added mist to create a dark atmosphere that compliments with the trees. It's not
something I see a lot of artist capture. And also a happy birthday to you
