Yep, for my senior art project final, I made a submersible, swimmable mermaid tail.My art teacher didn't believe I could pull it off, let alone be able to swim in it.

By the way, I can't remember if I mentioned this, but I wanted to let you know that I'm currently in the process of starting a forum for the mermaid costuming community. The idea is that people will be able to share ideas and tips for tailmaking, review commercially available tails, network, ect. I'm trying to determine if there's any demand for it. Do you think you'd find such a thing useful? Anything you'd like to see included?

The whole think was painted over with Acrylic paints, though.
