i love how the black background almost borders the yellow
eye...it works beautifully as a contrast to it. the crop is
really original and it works so well emphasising the spot
of colour within the photo. real good job.

That's a great shot, I love how the cat blends into the black and that just some of her shows. Her glowing eye and white whiskers are brilliant against the black background. It has attitude

The composition, whether done on purpose originally or thought of and cropped after the fact, is what distinguishes this photo from the (numerous) other cat pictures. I love the sharp and clearly visible whiskers. I wish the outline of his/her face could be seen near the top, though, even just a little bit.

I know, there are cats everywhere! That's why I almost didn't post it. But like you said, this one's a little different so I gave it a shot. I actually cropped the picture afterwards. The look was what grabbed my attention and I felt the composition needed to reflect it. I must say I was quite surprised at how well it works now.
