despite the storylines, valka wasn't moria's first engagement. moria was initially engaged to a guy who's name was also laverne, the guy in the picture. (valka gave their son laverne his name and had never met moria's previous fiancé.) they lasted a long time from when moria was 70 to about age 230 and never married to moria's father never giving her a definite answer in terms of if she could marry him or not. eventually they broke up because it wasn't going anywhere with moria's father and laverne seemed more focused on his job as the general. quite a few years, valka swept in and propose to his childhood friend and long time crush. moria accepted, not sure if she really liked him but soon fell to valka. all moria knew was she had desperately wanted a family...which in due course, she ruins another two hundred years later...
