This is an image for or related to The Taffetas, an animated series pitch project

"What? Do you want some?"

Had the (admittedly cliche) idea in my head forever but finally just jotted it down the other night.

I'm thinking I might try to finish it (in Taffetas actual lineless style, no less!) so constructive crit always welcome, I don't bite .

Also, be sure to check out our new character bios on the blog as well as our new setting description!

Hahaha MMMmmmm! I love their postures and expressions, especially Veil's! Gem sure knows how to work that lollipop, and she's got Veil all flustered over there! Really nice job with the environment, too! It's simple enough that it doesn't detract from the characters but has enough detail that it gives them a lovely 3-dimensionality and sense of space. Lovely job! I'd love to see this finished in Taffetas' lineless style.

Thanks Dana!

I went out around Hallmark to take pictures of places I liked for background reference, and this one is the first production of that research. I really want to get better at setting up a scene, y'know? XD Thanks for the encouragement!

Daaw, Veil looks adorable all flustered like that. I love how dainty Gemini's posed (even the way she's holding the popsicle) even in the blistering heat.

I've been good. I definitely am enjoying my stay in Evans, and have learned a lot from this job, but at the same time, I've gotten a bit frustrated that my hands are tied (creatively/artistically) since my own computer and cintiq have become integrated as my work station in the studio. I'm making the best of the situation. Using my old laptop, I've taken on some side Flash projects in the mean time.

How are things in Kansas City and Hallmark?

Yeah, I can't imagine having the drawing tools I spent my own money on being tied up at work. I honestly don't know what I'd do without my trusty cintiq and computer at home! I'm so sorry to hear about that situation. Still, it must be awesome to be part of an up-and-coming company, eh? What kind of animation work do you do there (ads, shows, webshows), and what kind of animation stuff are you working on at home??

Kansas City is good but it has its ups and downs. It's definitely hard being away from people I know and love, and honestly I'm a little lonely at times. The job itself is amazing though even if the corporate side of it can get frustrating (but that's going to be anywhere). I get a lot of creative freedom with my e-cards and I'm learning a lot about style and professionalism on the illustration sides of things, which I'm excited about. It's also cool that some of my work will be on actual Hallmark cards! That's just wow! So all in all I have no room to complain .

Glad to hear things are great at Hallmark. I'll be on the lookout for your work in the card section

Yeah, it's definitely fun working with an up-and-coming studio when we're in the midst of production, but there have been some lulls in between projects. We mostly do projects for clients, ranging from illustrations to animated shorts.

At home, I have volunteered to help out with Zachary Rich's senior film, Double Rainboom. I've already completed an animation test of Twilight Sparkle (which I've been forgetting to upload online hehe) and got my hands on a shot. I can't wait to see it all done! I'm also helping a fellow music artist, Alvin Pingol (who started out by making really nice covers of Pogo's songs) with a music video for one of his own original tracks.
