Fantastic detail!
I wonder why I've never heard of this book. Sounds interesting!

Oh I loved this book so much, although I feel bad for the Valkyrie now. At first she sounds plain nuts, but then you can't help but pity her because she really is just a genetic freak. She is too large, too buff...and nobody wants her. I do wonder what became of that large female...I do hope she found a mate and was able to have her own chicks (really that seemed all she wanted, a mate and young...but she happened to be a little too rough).
This book needs more love.

Nice to see that someone did Raptor Red some justice with feathers.

It is a wonderful scene well-drawn from a wonderful book. You wonder if their descendant T-rex's were likewise feathered. Not sure about the positions of the forelimbs, perhaps a bit TOO wing-like? But it's very good.

I may have gotten the wrong impression from Robert Bakker's Raptor Red. That's one of my very favorite books.

I'm not sure where you got that Tyrannosaurus was a descendant of Utahraptor, but the feather thing is forgivable since there was little reference to their integument in the book if any.
