Description Since I have been occupied by work this Summer and there will be a gap between the last page of Virgo Nostras and the next one, why not fill the gap? I had this portrait commissioned to so that we may finally see what Gala would look like in a more realistic sense. Needless to say that I was amazed, and the artist's gallery goes to show how talented she is! Well done , absolutely wonderful!

But behind this portrait is an innovative thought. In Gala Itgan's world, this portrait was made by one of the finest artists in the land, and she was more than willing to sit for this artist. It was her new friend, a Human man that wanted to have this portrait made of her. After the events of Virgo Nostras, Gala really needed a caring soul to be by her side, but who is it? What is she looking at? What is she thinking about? What happened to her friend, Kora?

If and when posts this on DA, I'll be sure to add a link in the description to it, so folks, go check out her amazing gallery!

First time I post it, I had this detailed description and an upload glitch or some other, deletes it? What the hell!

The description is now up if you care to read it, but the artist went above and beyond what I was expecting- I was blown away by this picture!

I read it and this is honestly a great way to fill that damn gap.

This piece is very powerful and the fact that she is staring off into the distance only gives it more power.

Gala is sort of sad, but that's easy to understand why. To me, this portrait gives a cold chill when I see it, and I can almost hear wind blowing form outside and creaking in the chair and floors. The fact that the Itgan does not face the artist only adds to her mood. This is what I was imagining before I had this portrait done.

What say you?

You put my thoughts into the comment section XD

I wonder what Gala's comment for this would be.

She probably has no comment, she probably is stunned to see how she really looks beside from a mirror. Don't forget that during this time frame, there were no cameras, and only the Humans had portraits and mirrors. Can you imagine being in your early 20's before you finally got to see yourself through another eye?

She's in the distant past?! But the technology is very futuristic! XD

It's complicated, let's narrow it down.

This takes place several centuries from now. Although the Humans came to this planet with all sorts of technology, they made sure that they VERY SLOWLY developed and introduced technology to this other world so that even if the Gluffs took it, the Humans could still have an advantage. Make sense? So the Humans and natives both began at about medieval-era tech, but the Humans during this time are further along to almost mid-late 19th century technology on Xendra. Gala's own kind are very medieval in both tech and in lifestyle, thus her dress looks a bit more old-world to us.

But the real emotion that I see in Gala is one of longing and belonging. She longs for something, but I don't know what it is yet. She also feels that she does not belong among the Humans, but she has nowhere else to go by this point. That's what I see in her expression, I don't know about what you may see however.

I saw in her that she desired something. Whether it be freedom, family, or independence seems unclear, but something is within her heart that she longs for.

Unfortunately, family can never happen again with what is about to happen.

Freedom. That's a big one. Definitely a soft-underbelly for her life.

Yup. I feel very sad for your character, Gala. She's gone through so much. That is a good thing though. Having someone feel emotion towards a character means you're doing a great job.

I appreciate that, and I also see a silver lining in this for Gala. Someone in her world cared enough about her to take her in. I'm not THAT evil.
