A gift for PEZ ON SHEEZY ART , one of my artist buddies. Kinda a mentor too. She's one of the most beautiful people I know inside and out, so I decided to do a sort of cross country art trade. This will be going up on her wall. :3 And what she drew me will be going up on my Wall O' Gift Art (C).

This is Riku from Kingdom Hearts. Obviously based on his second game incarnation since he has an emo mullet. I'm still tweaking the way I color stuff. Hair technique grabbed from *Deathdog3000 , skin from some comic coloring tutorial I read. The Japanese is the last verse of Radical Dreamers from Chrono Cross (another great Square Enix game). Roughly translated, it's something like:

Toward the darkness of the frozen stars
A spinning prayer
May it reach your distant sky

I prolly memorized that from animelyrics.com.

One of the things I tried to do is imitate the style of Japanese fanart. That's why the text is so plain and the background is so simple. I did an alternate background that makes the piece less serious but looks more Japanese.

I only own the art. And I know his shoulder's too high so his entire arm's out of proportion. *sigh*

P.S. Todoku means to reach or to stretch. From the last line of the lyrics.
