The Pacific Temperate Rainforests are amongst the richest and most diverse temperate forests on earth. They are one of only 7 temperate rain forest ecosystems, and the only one in North America.
Central Pacific coastal forests have the largest mass of both living and dead wood of any forests on Earth. Dead wood acts as habitat for an incredible variety of decomposers and other species.
More than a quarter of the world's coastal temperate rain forests occur in the North Pacific coastal forests ecoregion of southeast Alaska. With a unique combination of moderate temperatures and very high rainfall, the climate makes fires extremely rare. Instead, natural disturbances are caused by wind, landslides, avalanches, and floods. - World Wildlife Fund

This took so very long for me to complete~ I was thinking at first to color it with pencils, but I accidentally spilled coffee on the paper while out at an appointment~ Sooo..., rather than I throw it away, I simply convinced myself I had to make it digital~ Let's see, where to begin?

The green on her hind legs, and along her back represent moss and mold, cause that's what temperate rainforests produce~
The two objects on the inner hind-leg are wood-ear mushrooms~
The hind legs themselves are made up of gnarled tree roots~
The purple flower in the biome and necklace is called Viola Flettii, or Olympic Violet [common name]~ This violet is unique in that it occurrs on rocky outcroppings~
Last, the orange-tipped plant is called Indian's Paintbrush~
