to tell you this
but I miss you.
I can't seem to
shake it outta my mind.
But I miss you.
Lonely nights
The cold dawn,
the empty afternoons,
sirens blazing on the streets,
the deadening silence from
ringing in my ears
I feel like something's missing.
Maybe its the memories
I've decided to forget,
or maybe it's the cold winter chills
rushing against my still figure
reminding me how frigid
my fingers have become
without yours in it.
But the nights pass by,
the days seem to end as
quickly as I can dream of them,
and all I can think of is
"Why?"
I look through that old black box
where I've hidden the past
and realize, it hasn't gone anywhere.
Maybe that's why.

Cheer up, 'kay? Things happen in the past for a reason and we need to use those things to our advantage. Grow from your previous experiences. (That doesn't apply to all experiences, but, you know, it works for most.)
