I used to think Claydol is some sorts of UFO-person thing until I read up about it at bulbapedia.

Off topic: To our surprise Ash won against Kukui... Wow. Just. Wow. After so many years of not letting him win even a league, we are suddenly letting him win against an Elite 4 Tier opponent, really? This is going to be so controversial in the opposite direction of the previous 'never win a league' controversy. Seriously I was expecting a loss but a close match or even a draw.

But on a meta level someone in the forums actually predicted Tapu Koko will stop Kukui from sending out last mon and battle Ash in place of Kukui's 6th mon. And Ash vs Kukui now officially overtakes Ash vs Paul as the longest battle, lasting 4 episodes. However the tension isn't as high as Ash vs Paul...
