Nagas have played a huge role in ancient times and Bhuvanavati is no different. Many have feared her, others have worshipped her and yet more have respected her. But in the end, the past is the past - she won't live in it, and what matters to her is what you do today, not yesterday, that counts. She seeks living a wholesome happy life, including accepting yourself for who you are - something that may seem almost complacent at times in terms of self-development. She has long acnowledged her existence and length lifetime, and usually tends to coach in others doing the same even if it's not really her business to.

Bhuvanavati behaves much like a snake - she finds that keeping calm and poised and rational works in the fast-paced world of today. She's also greatly passive, mostly because nagas hold much power and she has her own, being control over water. But because of how destructive nagas can be without realising or without care, she makes it a point to restrain herself from doing such things and has embraced the human form as one method of self-restraint. Again, she may have done it in the past, but past deeds are old and there's no need to get so hung up about them.

She is wise, having seen and done much over her years of existence, but she prefers to never really act unless forced to or provoked. Tying into her self-restraint, she is at peace with the world, but the world is not at peace at all and sometimes she must realise that not acting is a worse crime.

Though one of Folkhaven's informants, she generally doesn't concern herself with its matters. If it happens, so be it. As a result, all her information tends to be delivered in a very neutral perspective so that she doesn't influence her recipients in making any decisions - but that also leads her to being really ambiguous or cryptic at times. If so, consult Atticus - he generally knows what she's talking about or referring to, and she is more straightforward with him than anyone else since she knows he is capable of having a neutral perspective (as death's harbinger).

Bhuvanavati is old. When Atticus met her, it was in fairly recent times compared to her age. She doesn't even remember how old she was, having come into existence so long ago that there was no actual calendar to measure her age up to, or even that she had no concept of time itself. She controlled water in a region of South India for a very long time, preventing floods but ensuring that the crops were watered and the animals and humans alive. Some believed her a great evil, others tried to hunt her down to control the water for themselves for profit, but Bhuvanavati boasts a reign that went uninterrupted. No one really knows what happened to the people who sought her out for their own beliefs or greed.

She vaguely remembers only leaving when it became imminent that humans were gradually taking over - and that was a long time ago, for Bhuvanavati expected humans to soon take over. What she didn't expect was that they would forget her. Though there would be places where naga worship still took place, more humans over time believed her existence a myth, an old wives' tale passed down to fascinate the children and nothing more. Seeing as nothing was left for her, she gained a human form - not hard for a naga, in honesty - and travelled across India several times.

Though many things, both great and terrible, have happened to her, she seems to be fine in terms of her experiences with humans. She is well aware that some humans can be evil and some humans can be good, and frankly painting the entire human race with one brush, as people used to do hers, is not something she feels is fair. As such, though anyone would normally have gotten cynical years ago, she still retains her casual humour and good nature - though she will say she does not have many human friends, take what you will from that.

At length, she decided that she'd seen India enough and decided to travel like everyone else was doing to England. She's spent 'a long time' there as well, enough to know the populace and set up her own business. While she prefers England, in these times she does occasionally wish to return to India to see how things have changed. She just feels that nothing much has changed, really.

While not a member of Folkhaven, she is friends with Atticus  and is happy to give him information. Though her shop is not big enough to be a base, it occasionally functions as a safehouse for Others. Being a really low-key florist who makes deliveries is a job that gets her around, and she listens to the gossip to keep an eye out for news that may have slipped past the international and local broadcasts, or at least any potential storms brewing on the horizon.

Atticus asked her if she could employ Kes , she agreed on the basis that he applies for it and not just because Atticus asked her.

- Like all nagas, she has several different alternate forms, but her main one is a great snake that is seen with either three or five heads. She tends to vary up the number of heads she has, but never shows the true number. She also varies up her length and implies that in her true length she'd never be able to fit into any human house or even go through the doors.

- Despite most legends saying nagas are evil, Bhuvanavati only really gets dangerous when she's mistreated.

- She has no actual powers of premonition, but her intuition and hunches based on 'reading' the atmosphere around her with enough information can often make her seem like this. In truth she's just that old enough to reason out possibilities of what might happen and what's the most likely outcome.

- Has an incredibly acute sense of smell.

- Sometimes likes to lie in a bathtub full of water as a snake.

- Expert navigator by the stars. Not that it matters anymore in a world full of GPS and satellites etc, but she prides herself on this. It's a naga thing.

- She is the employer of Kes .

- Is an old friend of Atticus .

- Generally known as Vati.

- She is known for saying "All things have a right to grow" a lot.
