If a picture tells a thousand words, and if art speaks for itself, than this picture definitely screams to me a about art.
I have seen many pictures made in similar fashion where somebody has something taped on his mouth, something that he/she wants to say, but covering the mouth with crayons is something new for me. And because these are the basic tools of drawing, and it looks like they have been used I can conclude that art will speak for itself and that the author of this painting can be proud of himself about sending a loud and clear message.

This is a very good concept and I love it. I'm also quite jealous that I didn't think to do anything like this for my own page. I especially like that the pencils are all sharpened to different lengths. It shows that they are actually used and not just pulled straight out of a box for looks. Not saying that you NEED to imply legitimacy, but it looks more legit.
I think you could do something more with the lighting though but I'm no expert on the specifics with lighting. Play with it in photoshop (or some other software if you prefer and see what you can come up with).
I would also remove your name from the bottom. If this is for your DA ID, it would be appearing next to your name anyway and the name in the image is redundant.

I don't have photoshop or any other editing system : ( wish I did though.

As awful as it is to recommend, you can get photoshop for free off of ThePirateBay if you search for it. It's just that photoshop is so expensive otherwise. And you KNOW Adobe already has plenty of money.
If I ever get around to making my own image like this, I will of course link back to you!

A friend of mine has recently given me his old version of Painter, so I might play around with that a bit, but as of right now I have no tablet to go along with it, and it would only work on my father's computer
