Contradiction has a fiery personality and so far has passed it to her offspring sometimes, not all the time but that could also be largely because of the studs. With Wicked Cat being just as crazy someone decided that it would be an excellent idea to breed the two together to create a monster - on and off the track! The breeding process took a long time due to Contradiction's aggression and Wicked Cat having been fired up to breed. When the ordeal was finally over Contradiction was put into a small pasture to calm down and Wicked Cat brought back to his stall to settle in peace.

Contradiction, being the sour mare she is, foaled out the black colt outside in the middle of the night. It wasn't raining, but the clouds overhead held the promise. In the morning when the horses were being fed it was noticed that Contradiction had unexpectedly foaled in the night. Some staff were confused due to the lack of signs informing them of her getting close to birthing. Some of the more experienced handlers just shrugged it off. "Horses will do that sometimes." They'd say to the younger workers.

Criminally Insane was a huge colt. Even the experienced horse people that would stop at the barn would get his age wrong, usually guessing anywhere from 2 weeks to a month over his actual age. His curiosity would draw people in to see him. Not long after his temperament began shining through bright and clear, just like his parents. While Contradiction was usually gentle and motherly around the colt, she never hesitated to run off any handlers trying to slip a halter over the young colt's head. It wasn't long before "San" started doing the same. It was around this time that Criminally Insane was to be weaned off his dam. It took 3 handlers to catch Contradiction and secure her to the fence and another 4 to catch her colt and bring him into the barn.

He grew absolutely fierce in the small confinement. He was unable to stretch his legs because no one wanted to bother bringing him out of his stall and letting him run in the arena; then run around trying to catch him for an hour or more afterward.

His training is about to begin and already there are arguments between RPA and CwS regarding who will take on the responsibility, James Welsh is an excellent trainer and has dealt with crazy horses before, but he would rather have the colt leave and let someone else deal with him.
