Technically you can as long as you don't claim that you own the franchise, or you refer to it as a parody or a pop culture inspired piece.
I used to create franchise-inspired shirt designs for a company, some franchises were deathtraps to use (Disney etc), but gaming companies for the most part are fine with it.
