***

This painting in thick oil applied with a palette knife is one of my most entailed pieces to date. Weeks were spent applying layers, letting it dry, and applying new layers over top creating texture and visual buzz. The piece feels like a dream to me, hence the name. It was created through happiness (the weeks leading up to my wedding on 10/31) and sadness (my great grandmother's sickness and passing on 11/1.) It means quite a bit to me.

Aja,

This painting is so powerful.

The emotion burns right through my monitor.

It reads as so authentic. Like a chapter from a diary.

Congratulations on your wedding.

Also, I hope that the richness of your grandmothers passing brings with it warmth and meaning, in a greater sense.
