Description you may color this, all I ask is credit for the lines, and a link so i can see the colored version
I am taking commissions, just ask about my rates, (I give discounts on ponies*)

Another Discord. This is a re-draw of the original commission, .This one isn't colored yet, but I hope the lineart is a big improvement. It's supposed to be a fusion of Discord, and Nightmare Moon. I didn't really understand the commission when I first drew it, I just thought it was supposed to be a black Discord, with black flames for the mane. Now that I understand what it's supposed to be, I wanted to take another crack at it. Tell me what you think.

By the way, this is the commission, that I got from my husband when we first met. It's how I met him . ^^ So it's special.

More from ME!:
Lastly, a Collab between me and Edhelwen-dm.

Immediately, is very beautiful. I love how there is some body language, not just standing there. It looks like is just line art and not very detailed...well it is pretty detailed without being overly convoluted. Lines are very steady. It looks very original, as if you took different kinds of creatures and put them together. Very nice. Impact, for me, is lower because for me to be blown away, there would need to be more detail and more technique, however it is still very impressive. I am be even more impressed if you never used references. If picture is not finished, I would love to see it finished.

Well thank you very much. I appreciate the concern on the details. I hope the finished version in color will satisfy you a bit more. This is just the first half, with the lineart. Alas there is only so much I can do with a lineart before making it too cluttered and messy.

I hope with coloring it makes a more profound impact, and we shall see.

Wow, this is amazing. The line art is incredible, and the line weight is perfect. It is a little crowded, but I'm sure it will look great colored (I wish I could color it, but I'm only just starting to figure out colors myself). The only comments I really have is on the design. This works great as a Discord in armor, but it is a little hard to tell that it is supposed to be Nightmare Moon. Although I LOVE the designs on the armor, you might tone them down a little because Nightmare moon has a very sleek, almost shiny look. I would also suggest gauntlets for all his limbs, like the one he has on his goat leg. A face plate would also look great, since that is Nightmare Moon's signature look. It also might be worth it to add tiger stripes or patterns onto Discords skin and scales. The stripes or patterns could be in Nightmare Moon's colors, and they could resemble moons and stars. I would also add sparks to the mane, because that would look awesome.

While all the suggestions sound lovely, they conflict to your first critique, which is the lines look crowded. If i added all those little scale and pattern details then the lines would be even more crowded. And I think it would detract from the lineart. Such patterns should be left up to the coloring artist who colors it, as it would keep the lineart clutter free of restrictions. And since i didn't add in all those details, it leaves it up to the artistic freedom of the colorer to decide what kind of patterns this discord should get.

The only reason i put a pattern on the lizard leg was because I was playing with a scale pattern that I'm using on a commission for a different person. Otherwise i try to leave the pattern decisions up to the coloring artists.

Although i appreciate the suggestions, And i'll keep them in mind if I draw something more nightmare moon based. They seem very good.

This is however a re-draw of a previous commission and I regrettably had some restrictions. This creature, (in it's official coloring) will be all black, very dark and very void. I have a coloring artist friend who will be coloring this for me, as I cannot. I'm hoping for it to be a bit more dynamic in the black and void look then the original design from two years ago, but it will still be lacking colors. So a lot of pattern details will be lost. And there won't be a lot of highlights.

Also, The only Nightmare moon references I put in this was the mane and the moon insignia. That is because my description of the creature, that I was given, stated it looked more like a Draconequus possessed by the nightmare. Not the nightmare itself.

I'm not sure if you'd be familiar with the creature or not, it's supposed to be Omega, from the fanfic, "So you've Grown Wings." I've never read it myself. I was commissioned by one of the readers to draw it two years ago. He wanted to see what it would look like.

I realize the armor should have been sleek like Nightmare's however, when I drew the first design I didn't know that, so I just kinda did whatever for the armor, but i made it look random, cause it's a Discord. The armor was so well received by the writer of the fanfic and the person who commissioned me, that I was encouraged not to edit it too much. So i mostly just made some aesthetic changes, but tried to keep it a similar style to the original armor from the first commission. (The original commissioner is now my husband, so he was kinda giving me pointers during this whole drawing process, or the re-draw)

I thank you so much for the critique, and i will keep all your considerations in mind, I like the pattern ideas, and I feel I should pass some of them on to anyone who wishes to color my linearts. I'm sure they'd be very helpful. But I sadly can't color much myself. I only use colored pencils, I've no talent for digital or copic.

I'll also make sure to add flowing lines and sleekness to any Nightmare related things I do in the future.

I love, love, love, this picture! His claws are awesome, his fangs are epic, and his expression is perfectly in tune with this picture. I love the armor, it adds the right amount of detail to the picture without over crowding the picture! I truly love the wings, you have truly mastered the art of drawing wings, both feathered and dragon wings. The fur also wonderfully detailed without overcrowding the picture. As a mega Discord fan, I give this truly amazing picture a 25 out of 10. Keep up the amazing work, you are an outstanding artist. I love this picture!

Heyooo

So sorry it's taken so long for me to comment. Between juggling three jobs and just being, well lazy, I've been putting it off. But now, prepare for comment spam! >:I

So the first thing I notice about this piece is the bold and dynamic lineart, which seems to be a strong suit of yours. The intensity of the lines changes with the shape of the figure and deepens at the joints and junctions which gives it a very realistic weight. However the figure is a bit confusing. Honestly despite staring at it for a while, it still takes quite a bit of effort to differentiate his right(our left) wing and arm from the rest of his body. The wing in particular sort of melts into his figure and makes it much harder to make out the thin, serpentine form of his body. The way his limbs overlap with his body just generally make his figure hard to pick out, and when you're working without color and shading especially, it's all the more easy to do that.

Yeah, that feathered wing is definitely not one of my favorites, and I probably could have executed it better. I don't like how it connects to his body, and if i had more room on the paper i think i'd have done it much different, especially at a different, less flat angle.
