The First Sailor Moon, Selene.As soon as i read the story this pose stuck in my head. I hope you like it.
You cant really see it in the scan but she has pink and sparkly silver streaks in her hair. there is also some shading which hasn't shown up so i will have to have a play with scan settings!

A cross between the well-known Sailor Moon and Rainbow Brite is what this looks like.
Erm...you did say you liked the 80's right? The stars in her hair and the way it is drawn is what reminds me of Rainbow. I loved that show.

Oh, you should if you like 80's cartoons. It was one of the best. Very girly, though, and as close to the magical girl genre as America gets without dubbing.

I really like this "version" of Sailor Moon- the added details to the original costume are neat and well drawn. I like her pose and the hair is also well done, your drawing gives it a certain texture. Good color work, too.

Well it is suppose to be the FIRST Sailor Moon so the Usagi that we know and love her fuku would be based off of this one. ^_^ Also in my head I saw more pink and silver in her hair so it was a balance of the three colors and not an overwhelming blond but I guess I did not explain that enough. -_-

Awesome. I thought I had made her colors more silver and went and reread my discription but I used blue and red. lol I did not realize how much I made her looks like Usagi when I was trying not to. -_- Love the pic.

Some effects are better done with photoshop or paint shop pro, like those hair streaks and the shading.
