well it depends on how you remove it but generally the endges are so thin (as to blend into the skin) that as you remove them things tear if it were for a series you'd have hundreds of pre-painted molds like this to use - this make up took 4 hours to apply and 2 to remove -_-;;

Awesome job! I just wanted to let you know that I featured this in "Realms of Fantasy and Myth: Week 22 - Gargoyles", you can find it here: [link]

Im a huge fan of practical effects and youve done sone nice work there, lots of great little details like the cracks on the chin. Beautiful work, the only possible issue I could see was the mold lines along the hand appliances. Other than that its brilliant!

Your welcome ^_^ If I thought I could actually do that for a living I would so look into learning to do it but I'm looking into something else right now.

No? That's too bad...maybe she has a website for her makeup and stuff? lol. It sounds like it would be a good shocker to see the difference between her original self and the gargoyle, too bad though.
Sounds like a pretty good makeup. Are these all the pictures you have of this makeup? No process shots or anything?

I just love the way this looks. You even applied makeup to her fingers. You have some real talent...I am impressed!
Is there anywhere that you have additional photos of this or other similar projects? I've always been facinated with using prosthetic makeup to transform a person into an animal or creature of some type. I've pretty much had to settle with doing it digitally (which is fine but not nearly as much fun).
Great job!

Thanks! I just have one more question about the gargoyle makeup job you did. I notice that you created prothetics for the model's hands...did you do so for her feet as well?

sailorangel In reply to lessthanhuman [2006-06-14 13:39:03 +0000 UTC]
no, I was only working for the photoshoot and I knew it would be torso at most so I did three seperate moulds - the face, the ears, and the hands.
