Description
“What did you do?!” The male yautja shouted at Va’Ko-Di.
Va’Ko-Di knew this was gonna happened, but deep down she had hoped her clan wouldn’t have noticed the extra bundle she had brought and that she would have had time to think of a way to explain why there was a ooman pup on the ship with them. Sadly that was not the case here.
Earlier she had finished dragging the dead body of the bad blood onto her clan’s ship. She took account of all of its tech that had been collected and made sure that the bad blood’s ship was primed for detonation, they couldn’t let any oomans get their hands on yautja tech. Dropping the body off to the side and shifting the bundle’s weight that was in the crook of her free arm carefully, Va’Ko-Di greeted her mate and clan in joyous triumph for killing the bad blood that had caused them so much pain and grief.
The clan celebrated this moment in a brief silence to honor the lives of their fallen brethren and Va’Ko-Di’s son that had been lost at the hands of the bad bloods. But this silence didn’t last due to the sound of movement coming from the bundle in her arms.
Va’Ko-Di’s mate was quick to notice something was off with her and what she held in her arm. He stiffened up at the sight of a small pink toe peeking out from under the bundle of dirty green cloth that Va’Ko-Di now held tighter to her chest.
“Va’Ko-Di.” His eyes narrowing, moving from the bundle to her eyes. It was easy to sense the tension building up in the room. Va’Ko-Di knows the rules of their species, every yautja knows them but why was all that he could think. Before he could say anything more, there was a thunderous roar that turned every eye from his mate to the speaker.
“What did you do?!”
From the back of the circle, the tallest male yautja yelled at Va’Ko-Di with his mandibles flared. This caused the bundle to whimper as it struggled to find its way out of the cloth. Va’Ko-Di took a strong defensive stand, turning her body to shield what was in her arms. Several of the younger yautja cocked their heads as to what was taking place while the older ones could see what was about to go down.
Va’Ko-Di moved the cloth and purred to her ooman pup, calming it down at the best she could do in this escalated situation she was in. She spoke out with her lower mandibles flared, “This pup had nowhere to go. I am doing what is best for this pup.” And just like that, the whole clan was in an uproar.
How could Va’Ko-Di do this? She knows the rules, no oomans were allowed even if it was a pup. Should have left it where it was found. These were the thought going thru every members’ head even her own. With her back was against the wall and anything could happen right now to the both of them but she wasn’t going to let anything happen to her ooman pup, she made a promise and she was bound to keep it.
The yautja that had yelled, now with more rage stormed towards her. He was ready to rip out the filthy ooman from her arms and throw it out of their ship. No matter what Va’Ko-Di would try to do he would show her that every yautja must follow the rules. Just because she was a female and the mate of his brother, it did not give her the rights to do whatever she wanted.
As the yautja stormed closer, he was roughly stopped by a shorter black and purple yautja, “Let go of me! I am going to teach your mate a lesson she will never forget!”
“Tau’Ja! Mei’hswei back off!” The black and purple yautja spoke with his mandibles flared.
“She will ruin this clan Duhran! As the leader of this clan, I will punish her.”
“And as her mate, I won't allow any harm come to her! Let me deal with this mess!” Duhran growled as he pushed his brother back to their brethren, who were quick to grab Tau’Ja and hold him in place.
“Fine! Clean up the filth that your mate has brought on our ship. This is a laughing stock towards our fallen brethren. And your son.”
Duhran growled at the last bit of the sentence his brother had said. It was still a sore subject that he felt was his fault as a father and he knows that with the loss of their first son, it was eating at Va’ko-Di. He turned back towards his mate. He loved her from the first time they had met as kids to the time she saved his ass on one of his hunts to even now.
“Va’Ko-Di.”
“I made a promise, Duhran.” She spoke with much authority in her voice, looking him dead in the eye, “A promise that I planned to keep.”

Update-Add some story to the image
Background is not my forte, but here is Va'Ko-Di arriving back on her clan's ship. She is fighting with her mate about letting the baby to live with them. In the end she would win, more due to her mate allowing it because he knew how hard the lost of their first born child was on Va'Ko-Di. Though this ordeal still causes a rift between herself and her clan members for some time.
This takes place shortly after Yautja Mother and Child
