This is a drawing I finished this past Friday. After looking at the artwork of Jesus drawn by Akiane Kramarik, I was inspired to draw a picture of Him, with an anime style, of course. My Manga Bible also gave me some inspiration. There have been some troubles going on for me lately, and drawing Christian pictures help comfort me by reminding me God is there for me.

I've never really drawn Jesus before, so I'm fairly happy with how this came out. I probably could use some practice, however. I'm not all too satisfied with the hair (the original sketch looked better, because you could see the strands of hair better), but overall it looks good to me.

Now, of course, none of us can really say we know what Jesus looks like, unless we've been to Heaven and back, or otherwise encountered Him in some way. Typically, Jesus is drawn with longer hair than this, but I read this awesome story about a girl named Akiane, who painted a beautiful portrait of Jesus when she was only eight. She had been having visions about God when she was only four, back when she didn't even know Who God is, and a sudden talent for artwork came out of her. Along side this, I read a book about this boy who had a near death experience during an operation because of a ruptured appendix (when at the time he was barely four years old). When he got better, he started saying that he was in Heaven and saw Jesus. The boy's father is a pastor, and even he was baffled by this. Over years and years, his parents showed him hundreds of pictures of Jesus, asking the boy if it looked anything like the Jesus he saw. Each time the answer was no, until so many years later, his father came across the picture by Akiane, and decided to show it to him, though he figured it would be another turn-down. To his surprise, the boy said that Akiane's painting was it! After reading the boy's and Akiane's stories, the experiences of Heaven and Jesus they had seem to be quite similar. There is a possibility that we may finally have an idea of what Jesus looks like. That's why I was inspired to draw Jesus like this. Honestly, it's a really amazing story. So amazing, that I plan to write a journal entry about it sometime to tell the full story. I was very intrigued by it.
