Amily had put her little sister to bed for quite a while now. The rest of the house was silent: her mother was probably working in her office, as usual, not caring about anything else; her older brother was studying in his room, preparing for an incoming exam; her father was still on its way home from work, his jewelry always closing later than the others, so that he could catch the latecomers.
As for her, she was in the backyard veranda, enjoying the stars she could glimpse through the cloudy sky. It was still too early to go to sleep, especially since she hadn't done much all day. It had been quite a light school day and with the new year Amily had learned new techniques to attract even less attention than before, so she hadn't been tormented too much by her classmates, that morning.
The silence around her was so thick that, when a voice came out all of a sudden from her ring, Amily almost fell off the bench.
- Attention Animamates: we have multiple cities confirming monster attacks and general chaos across the globe. We need all hands on deck. Please report to the Transporters as quickly as you can. This is not a drill... - was saying the voice that she recognized as Jun's. Her first reaction was indignation, because if there was someone she didn't want to have anything to do with in the Crystal Caverns, that was him. Her second one, though, was of concern, when she actually realized what the voice was saying. She raised her head again, this time towards her house and checked that the light of the bedroom she shared with Liesbeth was still off. And with that, her decision was made.

Amily wasn't even sure where she ended up. When she had first arrived at the Transporters there was so much confusion that the thought of asking hadn't even crossed her mind. Now, Amily could only guess that she somewhere in America thanks to the daylight, but that was it. Surely, if she ever wished to visit the continent, those weren't exactly the conditions she imagined for her first trip there. Her priority, however, was now to locate the youma as soon as possible. The task revealed itself to be quite easy, she just needed to follow the screams that where coming from those that already encountered the monster.
Even if the stupid heels her transformation had "gifted" her didn't help at all, Amily run in that direction, trying to get herself ready for the fight. Her run, unfortunately, was short lived. A sudden explosion, even if too far to damage her in any other way, made Amily loose her balance. Now on her knees, she tried to look for the youma, even before attempting to go back on her feet, and their eyes met. The monster floated right in front of her, a grin on its face.
- Oooh... what do we have here? - the youma said with its high pitched voice, before pulling out a card from its deck. - Looks like it's another 3 of Hearts! - it chirped, showing it to its "public".
Realizing that those cards were probably what the monster was using to cause the explosions, Amily appealed to her defensive power. - Rose Quartz Beaming Hearts! - she called, making little crystal hearts appear and form a shield around her.
The youma seemed amused by her choice. - You really think you can use hearts again the Three of Hearts? - it asked, laughing, before throwing the card in her hand against Amily.
Maybe she hadn't concentrated enough, maybe the explosion had been too powerful or too close, either way the Beaming Hearts shield fell apart, unable to withstand the attack. Shocked, she almost wasn't able to call another of her powers before the youma's next move. Luckily for her, it surely liked to speak.
- You know what they say about rabbit? That they are cowards! - Three of Hearts laughed again, drawing another card from the deck, identical to the previous one.
- Unicorn Hide! - Amily called out, remembering that she now had this ability too.
The youma grinned again. - It seems like your powers aren't even working anymore - it said, before tossing out the card.
This time, the explosion knocked Amily over for good, but thanks to her temporarily diamond hard skin, the damages where limited. Still, her heard hurt because of the impact with the sidewalk and, it took her a moment to realize it, she was now deaf, capable of hearing nothing but a bothering sound ringing in her ears.
It took more than just moment for Three of Hearts that she was still alive, too busy being amused by her supposed victory on the Animamate.
Amily took advantage of this to raise herself from the ground, just enough to see the youma and call the last one of her resources. She concentrated all of her remaining force before screaming, even if she couldn't hear it herself, - Blooming Spirit! -.
The vines surrounded the youma, leaving it confused on their origin, before it actually started to try and escape from them. That, of course, just made it worst. The vines tightened up more and more and, in the end, all that was left of Three of Hearts was ashes and a button with the number 3 on it, something that, at the beginning. Amily had noticed on the front of its vest.
Without not even enough strength to get up, Amily crawled towards the button to collect it, a faint smile on her lips. She then transported herself back to the Caverns, unable to see their light before finally fainting.

And... this is all! The story might be shorter than others I've seen floating around, but I'm kinda fainting as well (but because of sleepiness, in my case) and I suppose it can work anyway. As for the image, I went for a lazy background, because, as usual, the one I was trying to do wasn't exactly collaborating.
And I may or may not have forgotten about the rabbit ears while I was working on this and noticed that they were actually missing while lining... apparently this is just how bad I need a new reference for her, since I keep forgetting what she gained with the Radiant tier...
