Didn't think I'd make it but I did! Yay!This is my submission for One step from Shadow Contest. I chose "Step into the Light" as my theme.
The child in this picture is taking a breather as he steps into the sunlight, while his colleagues continue working.
Usually I tend not to draw about serious topics, but for some reason the idea behind this picture was stuck on my head for a while. A few weeks ago I came upon this article www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-31… The numbers are shocking, but they don't give you a full gist of reality: little kids stuck working in a factory for hours and hours. Kids half my age, or even less. Honestly it's heartbreaking when you think how many unknown, missing children are out there, probably waiting for a sliver of light into their lives.

This is really beautiful and you handled this topic so beautifully. The lighting really makes it stand out. And it is really sad, but this happens a lot especially here and I really wish this would stop....I'm glad you chose this topic as more people needs to know about it and this really needs to stop. The lighting and drawing style reminds me of a Studio Ghibli film. That's definitely a good thing.
