This is the long overdue third picture in my 'artists that inspire me' set.Just over a year ago I posted a journal about the four artists who inspire me the most on deviantART. (You can read it here , it's as true now as it was then).
I said I'd draw one of each of their OCs, and this one belongs to *YueYuki .
I tried so hard on this one, and put so much time and effort into the colours and shades. I really hope it's paid off!! YueYuki's colouring is so astoundingly beautiful I wanted to capture just a fraction of that in this picture. She's an incredibly talented artist and I love every picture she uploads. And now to the artwork. You drew her so well *___* You used the perfect colors and her design fits to your style I really can see how much time you spent on the colors, it came out so beautiful *__* Especially the hair which exactly have her hair color *O* And the motive also describes her so well! Thank you so much for this drawing, I'm so happy to inspire you with my art and I just wish I could thank you 1000 times just to express my gratitude. She turned out so cute and there's so much atmosphere in this drawing. And you know what? That's what good artists should be able to put into their pictures. If you continue like that, you'll get better and better really fast!

I tried really hard to get the colours as close as possible, so I'm relieved that you think I managed it.
I really wanted to try and express my interpretation of Kotoro's character in this picture. (Even though I don't know much about her. >__<)

Awww, how sweet; That faint radiant background effect is very pretty 
And great job capturing that near-symmetrical ordering of the character's silhouette and the gentle details of the face. The posture of her hands is beautifully done and again bear that lovely natural, gentle appearance 
But great job, overall; Really love that gentle aura given by her presence in your colouring

I'm really glad you think so. The way YueYuki's style blends colours together is so beautiful, I really tried my hardest to implement that kind of shading here. I'm finding that as I draw these pictures inspired by the artists I love, I'm also learning a lot from each picture & character about techniques and styles that is invaluable experience. Hopefully I'll continue to improve at this style of colouring~
Thank you~ I worked really hard on trying to get the shape and perspective of the hands right. I struggle with hands so much orz I think I still messed up the fingers on the right hand, but I definitely believe I'm improving! ^_^ As for the size, I think as opposed to drawing the hands too small I drew the head/shoulders too big, but it may just be that we look at the picture differently. I guess it could be seen either way?
Thank you so much for the kind words~ If I'm honest, I'm really pleased with this picture. I can see numerous mistakes when I look at it, but I think my colour and shading has never been quite this polished, and numerous aspects of the lineart are a step above what I usually draw
