Well, yeah. Slum Dunk is quite special about the level it makes us envolved into the action. You know, I'm rather serious person so my reaction with screams surprised me a bit. Hehe, first time I felt kind of deep-understanding of football's/basketball's/etc. fans
About manga, orginally I regreted that it's over. However, afterward I found that it's better to leave the scene at your best... you know what I mean? Look at all those stuff that was great in a particular moment of past, but as people wanted to make more money from it and continued it for years on end, in the end destroyed it, made it ridiculous.
Respect for Takehiko Inoue that he stopped it in time.
BTW, I've read from him another one about basketball called REAL. It was more serious than Slam Dunk, still pretty good. I admit, I stopped it at the moment and forgot about it. I'm rather kind of people who swallow things at one piece than patiently waiting for regular out-goings.
Greets!

Oh, lol, that's funny.
I was completely into it as well, I even bought a basket and convinced my dad to attach it to a high pole pounded into the ground in the garden (hehe, do-it-yourself work ). He wanted to attach it lower than the rules say as I'm dwarf-size. But hell no, that wouldn't be true baskeball .
I was trying to do the same as Sakuragi - you remember his scary training? It was 10 000 (or more possibly 100 000?) shoots within 2 weeks, if I am not mistaken. Well, I haven't succeed it at all
Buzzer Beater - never heard about this one. However, I'm not so much anime-crazy. I've watched dozen anime, but usually one-shoots, Ghibli movies or sth pretty philosophical mood like "Mushishi" (which is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen). So BB... good or not? Worthy watching or I'll be deeply depressed about it after Slam Dunk?

Yeah, I remember. I've tried it before when I was a school student long time ago. Me too, I can't reach the shoot like Sakuragi. Mine was 100 only =A= What a suck.
Buzzer Beater's creator is same the person with Slamdunk & REAL, Takehiko Inoue. But BB is just publish in anime only. Still the same theme, basketball, but in there, is basketball in universe. Which mean human vs aliens. I'm not quite like this BB but still respect on it since Inoue-sama did that (^_^)

Aha! I started to watch it again also! At a moment I'm somewhere around 50 episode.Β This anime will never age! (However, I wouldn't mind a new manga adaptation this time covering all of it! Yeah! ... the only thing I'd be worried is seiyuu choice, because guy voicing Sakuragi made great job!).
I'm sooo curious how Sakuragi's life went on after curing his back. I've been even doing a bit of research for finding out if Inoue made any comment about Sakuragi after-life... but the only thing I found is this reportedly fake story about Sakuragi being real person O_o, great basketball player who died in the car accident.Β
But maybe you heard anything about that? Short comment during Inoue's interview or something like that? (Hope dies last).Β
