Being tolerant of someone's race/gender/religious affiliation is one thing, and that I am, but being PC is another. I mean, these fools actually go around looking for stuff to call offensive when the stuff in question wasn't meant to be offensive! Perhaps the PC movement is actually an excuse these nutcases use to BE racist/sexist/etc because by condemning things they consider that, they're perpetuating negative stereotypes.

While I don't like Political Correctness gone MAD, I do think that at least some is ok. You wouldn't go around calling people nigger or chinamen, would you? The kind I dislike is where they censor books, because that's stupid, but people need to be at least somewhat politically correct. On their own. Without anyone telling them to be.

I don't consider not calling someone a nigger, chink, jap, ect as political correctness though. I consider it having respect and common decency. However, not being able to call someone black, crippled, Indian, ect because it's not politically correct and should be African American, Handicapped (or how about Handicapable?), Native American, ect is obnoxious.
I personally feel that all this political correctness only makes us notice our differences even more since we always have to walk on eggshells, and thusly promotes racism in a way.

Political Correctness is just a term used by people who want to say the most ignorant and offensive things as humanly possible, without have a regard for anyone else. Anything short of that is seen as insufferable oppression by the supposed βPC Policeβ.
So when people (of color for example) raise an issue of appropriation, protocol, cultural respect, acknowledgment of historical realities, the offenders (white people in this case) lash out in that uptight venomous defensive way of theirs, at the mere prospect of being even symbolically hindered from taking what they want, when they want it, as freely as they want.
Sorry to "rain on your parade" but that's just the reality of things.
