Wow - this reminds me of a scene from the Alternate Reality of Ep.26 detailed in one of its continuations (I think in "Shinji Ikari Raising Project") where a little Asuka finds little Shinji crying and tries to get him to pluck up his courage by saying, "you're a man, aren't you?" (It's a flashback scene.)
The caption you left indicates that you are not aware of this, so the fact that you drew something so similar is amazing.

It's pretty cute - as you know from the series, Asuka has an entirely different relationship with Shinji in the "Alternate Reality." She is still Asuka - strong, energetic, enthusiastic, opinionated, sharp-tongued and not above occasionally meting out a thrashing to those who deserve it, but she is also Shinji's girl-next-door; she lives in the apartment next to his, their families are old friends and she's known him since he was 4 - almost making her more like a typical tsundere herione. She still teases him all the time, but it's also very clear that he means everything to her.
It's amusing to watch or read about all of this if you can disconnect yourself from the original, more serious, more terrible EVA (a.k.a. the "Real" EVA timeline) and just see this as a 'dream' or an alternate universe, and I also can't help but wonder how "our" Shinji would react if he ever learned about how lucky the "other" Shinji is, since in his world, Asuka practically loves him.

You can also find tribute videos and gameplay videos (and even more discussion) on YouTube. ^_^ I even managed to torrent the Girlfriend of Steel II game (you can make Shinji end up with either Rei or Asuka - and since Yui is alive in this alternate reality, Gendo never plans to cause Third Impact and is firmly committed to killing off all of the Angels - except Kaworu, who's an active duty pilot in this reality.) but the problem is that it's in Japanese only and they never made a translation patch for it.
