I wouldn't put it under fanart if I were you because it is YOUR original creation, but maybe others should list it as fanart.

I think the composition and choice of colors in this is really great! The tan/yellow and the blue complement each other very nicely indeed. The legs/pants, however, seem a little flat compared to the three-dimensional rendering in the rest of the image. A good thing to keep in mind is that when you have a bright sky in the back as a light source, backlighting will showcase the volumes even in the shadowy regions.
Still, I really like your painting style here! very smooth and clean, and the whole image is dynamic and gels together well.

Sure. Let's take his left leg (on our right) as an example. You've got the shadow on the inner-thigh side, so I assume the lighting is coming from his left (our right). Since the sky is very bright behind him, it should be reflecting light as well. Therefore, the light source wouldn't only be shedding light on that one side--reflected light from the back would outline his left leg along the shadowy region, like a thin strip.
The last few panels of this tutorial: [link] are a good example of backlighting, and how multiple sources of light behave.
