Description
A very floofy princess costume I made for Otakon 2005. Originally going to be a Chii costume, the wigs never worked out. The pearls outlining the fleur de leis were all sewn on by hand >.<crepe back satin, muslin, venise lace, fake pearls, satin ribbon.

Hey ya! i LOVE this dress, did you use a Crinoline (?spelt right?) or did you use a Petticoat? Im learning to sew my self and its going pretty good so far..ish...but i cant seem to get the poofy bit right...

I used a specially made petticoat that was longer in the back then the front. It took ages to make.

oooooooooo okies, i kinda gather it around the bottom edges and work up doing maybe 3-4 layers . It poof's but not very well >.<

I would suggest just buying a nice petticoat, the squaredance ones for little girls are good (just don't get the really really full ones), making your own is a real pain, and in my experiance hardly ever goes well.

Thankyou, yes I did teach myself. I started by taking apart clothes and remaking them, then I used alot of premade patterns and read sewing books. Now I use very few patterns and make alot of my own.
