I just realized I never posted this here! But I posted it on my Tumblr [link] a few weeks ago!So I will just copy that description to here:
So yesterday I did a meme (shocker!) and passed it on (double shocker!) and someone actually did it (Tinrobo!) and I saw her answers and one of my questions was about drawing requests and she said Twinkle-Eyed Ponies.
And I thought, “You know what? I am up for a challenge.”
So I drew not one but three (!!) Twinkle-Eyed Ponies. Because I have problems. But also I don’t really like drawing standalone ponies because I like telling stories too much! It’s harder to tell a story with just one pony!
The three lovely fillies you see before you are Galaxy (the unicorn), Masquerade (the pegasus), and Gingerbread (the earth pony). Why these ones?
Because my sister had two Twinkle-Eyes but I only remembered Galaxy, and I went to Kimsites to find her and I also drew her two photo compadres.

Their eyes are crystal because they're based on the G1 "Twinkle Eye" ponies, which had plastic rhinestones for eyes, like so: [link]
And in the original cartoon, they still had awkward crystal eyes: [link]
I was just doing my best to translate their original appearance to a G4 pony : )

I loved the twinkle eyed ponies. Fizzy was my favorite.

Yeah, I liked them when I was little too. I thought they were fantastic.
Probably because they really are the perfect thing to attract most little girls, what with having jewels for eyes.
But without the nostalgia lens, they are a little scary, haha. My husband was completely weirded out by them when I was showing him pictures.
