While you were tossing and turning beneath your bedsheets, you thought of the previous events of that night. Questions were flooding your brain.

'What's Slenderman gonna to do us in the morning?'

'Why hasn't he killed us already?'

'Is he going to know it was us?'

Your thoughts were cut short when you heard a soft scratching noise at your window. You slowly turned your head and eyeballed the window, hoping it wasn't one of Slendy's proxies that he might have sent to get you.

To your delight, it wasn't. It was your favourite cat, Grinny.

You groggily dragged yourself out of bed, slightly annoyed at the cat for making you get up. As you staggered over to the window, its grin seemed to grow as it tilted its head, its eyes fixated on you.

You raised an eyebrow at the feline, "Something funny?" you muttered under your breath.

After you reached the window, you dragged it open, allowing the cat inside your room.

"Hey, Grinny," you yawned, hobbling back to bed, "What brings you to my room this evening?" You were speaking more to yourself than you were to the cat.

"I was looking for that buffoon dog," he strutted across your room, his tail swishing behind him.

"You can talk?!" you stared at him in shock, your mouth agape.

Slowly, he raised an eyebrow at you in a quizzical fashion.

"Oh, wait," you thought to yourself, tapping your chin, "I knew that!"

Grinny sighed at your forgetfulness, turned to face you and sat down, staring you in the eyes.

After a few seconds, he stood up again and smirked, "Did you also know that I can do thi-"

"Yeah, yeah. You can turn into a human," you looked at him with half closed eyes, wanting to go back to your dreamland.

Grinny's smirk faltered for a second, before coming back, even larger than before. Suddenly, to your slight surprise, an eerie green glow surrounded the feline. Within a matter of seconds, the creature that had previously been a cat was now a human.

You couldn't recall ever seeing Grinny in his human form before, so you took the chance to take a thorough look at him.

He had short black hair, as well as furry black ears. He was wearing his red scarf and a dark grey coat with red buttons, as well as a matching pair of dark grey trousers. On his feet were pure black shoes, and on his hands, black fingerless gloves. Behind him, his black tail was swishing calmly. As you examined his tail, he looked at you, curious as to what you were doing. You tilted your head in thought, and reached out to poke it. The boy chuckled at your antics, watching you closely. When you stroked his tail, he made a soft purring noise, the corners of his lips curving up into a smirk-like smile, revealing his sharpened canines.

"Whoa whoa whoa, don't go thinking you're gonna get me to automatically have affection for you just by manipulating my tail," he moved his tail away, earning a glare from you.

"Shut up! I was just looking at it! It's not my fault I've never seen a cat-boy before," you pouted, folding your arms.

"Relax, I was just joking," he petted the top of your head before strolling over to your bookshelf.

"Smile can transform as well, right?" you tried to recall whether or not the canine had the abilities of the feline standing before you.

"Yeah, but he doesn't like to," Grinny sat on your bed with his knees crossed, examining his fingernails, "I don't know why," he shrugged.

"That explains why I've never seen him in his human form before," you concluded, "I'm guessing that he doesn't like speaking very much, either?"

"Yeah, even I've only heard him speak a few times."

"Right. Well, this is a nice conversation and all, but I'd really like to be getting back to sleep"

"Alrighty, I'll be taking my leave, then," he spoke slowly before standing up and walking to your bedroom door, his footsteps silent, "Goodnight, _____."

"See you in the morning."
