AWWWW MAN YA'LL KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS

CONTEST TIIIIIME!

Heck yeah!! And I think you guys will like this one, too! It involves a MUCH simpler character compared to Spider, so it will be a lot easier to draw!

This contest's main character is named Ellis!
He's a lifelike, gel-skinned robot that's part of a species called Halozoids, made by LeetricalZool!

Here's his main reference, and his full model reference for consistency!

As you can tell, his main power is that his limbs can detach and float around! A gravity generator location in his chest helps his limbs able to fly around anywhere, such as if he needs to reach high up, or bend in ways other people can't!
His body is permanently afloat, as the top of his legs don't connect to his body, as you can see in the reference. Other limbs can connect and detach, including his head! You can see all of the connections to the left of the model sheet!

The one issue with him is his hands. Ellis was a prototype for the floating limb system, and of course there are some bugs.
His hands have a secondary AI installed into them, to help them autonomously float when Ellis is focused on something else, so Ellis doesn't use all of his processing power to control his hands. An example being reaching for something on a shelf while turning to talk to someone, the AI grabs the item on the shelf so Ellis can focus on talking.

However, the AI is a bit glitchy, and tends to get a mind of it's own and disobey Ellis. This causes them to be troublemakers, making a lot of trouble for Ellis such as whacking him or messing things up for him!

All in all, even if his hands cause trouble, he considers his hands his "buddies" and wouldn't trade them for the world! He might get into a lot of accidents, but he's a very durable Halozoid who tries his best to stay positive!

-The contest deadline is on May 4th! It will NOT be extended for whatever reason, so you'll have a full month to finish your entry!

-Absolutely NO NSFW or sexual content is allowed. If you submit anything like this, you will be disqualified and forbidden from entering any future contests.

-You ARE allowed to draw him with a character of yours! If you personally feel like it'll be a fun entry, then go right ahead! I don't mind ^^

-I am a fair judge, and being a friend of mine will NOT make your entry more likely to win! I look over every little detail of drawings to see who will truly be the winner! Even if they're my best friends, I judge their pictures as fairly as everyone else!

Like last time with the Spider contest, I'm going to use increased prize amounts!
I'm going to start off the prize amounts being normal, right? BUT!
If we get 20 people to submit entries, I'll INCREASE the prize amounts!!
That includes the consolation prizes as well! So everyone wins!
Make sure you spread the journal around so lots of people join, that way everyone gets more points!
The regular prizes will be in regular text, while the BOLD text shows the increased amounts!

Here are some good tips I can think of that would help you score high in the contest!

TAKE NOTE that following any or all of these tips still doesn't guarantee that you'll win! Like I said, I'm a fair judge and I grade a picture based on many different things!

These tips are just here to give you some pointers and ideas of what to make your entry about!

TAKE NOTE: This contest is specifically focusing on uniqueness!! Ellis is a very silly character and his floating limbs provide tons of ideas! Making an entry that shows him doing something unique will score you high in the contest! Use your creativity and imagination!

-Follow the reference! Make sure you have all of the colors correct and the personality right! Following the reference and not making any mistakes is a good way to make your picture stand out from the rest!

-Add some mechanical detail! It's most likely no surprise to anybody that I like mechanical detail XD This includes small details such as mechanisms, joints, the sorts of things you would have on a robot! Don't worry too much if you're not good with mechanical detail, your picture will most likely still have a
good chance of winning if it's unique enough! <3

-Keep Ellis in character! Don't change up the Halozoid's personality! You can read up on everything you need to know on this journal, or you can always ask me questions on how he acts! Following his personality and making a picture that suits it will give you a good chance of scoring high ^^

I ALWAYS love hosting contests for you guys, and I bet this one will be amazing as well!
I understand that Spider was a very complex character last time, but hopefully Ellis is much simpler for you to draw design-wise, so more people will enter and have fun!
