Description Lafayette Cemetery in the Garden District..New Orleans Louisiana. Easy to believe that vampires and spirits roam this Cemetery.

If you are a fan of Anne Rice you will recognize the name.This cemetery was used in both the Vampire and Mayfair books.

love the contrast between the dark and light~ One can also interpret the sky being the final destination as well as the cemetery itself.

Best time for visiting is late October through early April after that it is way too hot and you don't want to be in New Orleans for Hurricane season! I think you'll really enjoy yourself whenever you do come..if you want I can give you some tips on dining,and things to do..etc..

HOT!!! But other than that I'd have to say that it's GREAT!!! There are so many things to do here..all the different museums,the Zoo, the Aquarium,all the many Cemeteries, the Plantations,the wonderful Parks,the Festivals,THE FOOD,Mardi Gras..etc.I'm sure you could do something different every day for an entire year!But you have to be street smart and use good judgement..don't put yourself in a situation where you can be an easy target for robbery or worse..when you are ready for your visit,I'll give you a list of do's and don'ts..

really ekk i guess here in aus its very hot much of the time
so winter is a shock.. !!

This is a new fave! The clouds are lovely, but the darkness of the graves are just adding to the character that is Lafayette Cemetery. Actually, I've been reading Anne Rice for years. I don't read her much anymore, but I still love her novels.
